Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the AWE Fund Organizing Committee has sponsored periodic Question & Answer panels to fundraise and cross-pollinate ideas across the Libraries, Archives, and Museum field.
In July, we organized our first panel featuring Callan Bignoli of Protect Library Workers, Anna Clutterbuck-Cook of AWE Fund, John Chrastka of EveryLibrary’s HALO Fund, and Paula Santos of Museum Workers Speak. Panelists discussed mutual aid models of community care and community-building solidarity efforts among library, archives, and museum workers. View our blog post for a summary: “We Have to Do This For Each Other”: Summary for LAM Mutual Aid & Solidarity panel.
In September, we organized a second panel featuring Brenda Flora of the Association of Moving Image Archivists Advocacy Committee; Elena Colón-Marrero and Melissa Gonzales of the Society of American Archivists Archival Compensation Task Force; and Michelle Millar Fisher of Art + Museum Transparency. Panelists discussed salary transparency efforts within libraries, archives, and museums organizations and spaces.
